Set during the Lapland War, in the middle of WWII, the film follows a hot-blooded young midwife named Helena. Hungry for passion and escape, Helena’s life takes a dramatic turn when she falls for Johannes, a handsome German-Finnish officer with divided loyalties and, perhaps more importantly, killer cheekbones.
